Yesterday, my mother and I went to the supermarket nearby. There was a really rude staff and my mother decided to wrote a complaint letter. This was how the complaint letter looked like…
Dear Sir / Madam RE: Complaint against Rude Staff
On the 27th January 2010, I was shopping at your department store at about 4:30pm. I was extremely displeased with the service of one of your staff members, Mr. Thomas Tan, who was working in the travel department.
On that day, I had decided to purchase a bag from your department store, as my bag was spoilt. Since I was unsure as to what item was best for me, I enlisted Mr. Tan’s help. At first, he took a sample of all the bags I had requested. As designer bags cost a few hundred dollars, I wanted to get my money’s worth by investing in a durable yet attractive bag. I was not very sure about what I had in mind and asked for his opinion. He seemed to be unhappy with my request and mumbled a few words under his breath. I politely asked him again and this time, he spoke in a very unhappy manner. I was stunned by his attitude. Working in the service industry, he should be more patient with his potential clients. I noted his name from the name tag he was wearing and walked out of Department Store. I was furious.
I hope that some disciplinary action will be taken against Mr. Tan and that he will be counseled to help him understand his job better. I also suggest that training programmes be implemented so that your staff can be trained adequately to provide a high standard of service to all customers. I hope that such incidents will not happen again in future.
Yesterday I had a rather slack day in school. Or should I say I did not go to school because of my volleyball tournament. By the way, we WON the tournament with the score of 25-10, 25-1. Yeah!! When we came back, it was already 2.13p.m. and our class is ending at 2.15p.m. By the time we step in class, the bell rang. We went up to the math’s teacher and she asked us to stay back tomorrow for a test we had missed. After school, I went for training as usual but the training ended early as we were all tired after our competition.
My mother asked me that morning to go to her office after training to have dinner with her. Thus, I took a taxi to Shenton way. It was not difficult to locate the building since it had a red logo ( ) that was hard to miss.
I recalled that she worked on the 17th floor as I was there before. The security officer on the ground floor made visitors sign in logbook. I joined the queue and filled in my particulars. Then, I squeezed into the lift. The people must be working there as all of them were dressed smartly. The men were wearing long sleeve shirts and ties. While, the women were wearing blouses and skirts.
I got off on the 17th floor. Everyone knew where to go except me.fi felt like a fish out of water. I stood in front of the office and looked for my mother. The office looked like a hectic workplace. All the people were either on the phone or on the computer. There!! I saw my mother. She was on the phone and when she ended her conversation, she said “OK, let me finish my work first before I go”. My mother and I had a great dinner at McDonalds before we went home.
Continuing from my last blog... The last blog post was about me being late for my tuition exams. Now, why was I late?? The culprit behind all this is... "EXAMINATION JITTERS!!!" This was what happened the day before the exams... I took a look at the clock and it tells me that it was already 1a.m. I had been trying to get to sleep without success for the past three hours. I had hit the sack at 10p.m., hoping to fall fast asleep as soon as my head lay on the pillow. It was a futile attempt. I had been lying there awake. I could feel my brains throbbing and my heart beating from the impending pressure. "Buzz..."A mosquito was hovering near my ear. Of all times! I covered my ears with my bolster and snuggled up beneath my blanket. Determined not to open my eyes, I begun counting sheep. "This had better work," I sighed. "...97,98,99,100!" I was still awake. Precious seconds were ticking away. I needed some refreshing and rejuvenating sleep before the big day tomorrow. If not, months of studying, hard work and hopes of scoring well would be gone and will never come to fruition. I gave up. I lay there awake on my bed while examination questions crossed my restive mind. I thought of formulas and recalled all the data I had stored in my brain. I was on the verge of getting a migrane from lack of sleep, pressure and overload of facts! Finally, after a while I went into 'dreamland'.
Yesterday, was probably the unluckiest day of my life. It was 7.00a.m. I stumbled to the bathroom and slipped on my creased clothes. Then, I drained my glass of chocolate milk. "Not today. T cannot be late," I muttered. It was raining cats and dogs. Outside and the traffic was crawling in Tampines. I had to make my way to tuition on my own that wet and soggy morning. If only my father were here, he would have driven me to my tuition. I had to do something. The ball was in my court now. I stretched out my hand once more in the most familiar fashion. A blue taxi stopped beside me and I hoped in quickly. "Ang Mo Kio" I instructed at once. The driver jerked his old taxi along the packed street. It was already 7.45a.m. and I was still mired in my flooded estate. I thought of my friends in tuition who would have started their lessons by now. I quickly flipped through my notes in a last-ditch effort. Nothing went into my head, as I was more anxious to get to tuition quickly. Finally, I arrived and hurried to class. All my friends were already at their places, busily scribbling answers on thier scripts. They were so focused that no one looked up to acknowledge my arrival. Panting, I crept to my seat and flipped open the test paper. Without wasting a second, I wrote whatever i managed to retain in my head. What a morning to be late!
Yesterday,(you might find it quite random) i decided to train my stamina for the 2.4km run and so i went jogging in the nearby park with my father. It was roughly around 6a.m. when I was in the park and only the dim lights from the lamp posts shone. I felt quite tired and started walking for the next round. "Bang!" something fell on the ground. The leaves in the bushes rustled for a few seconds; then stopped. The park was then silent and still. I became rather nervous and smelt a rat when i hear the sound. I then quickened my pace and a few seconds later, I heard a loud "bang!" again. It sounded like a gun shot followed by another "thud!" Suddenly, I thought of the movie that I had watched a week ago. The movie was about a murderer with a gun on the loose. I replayed the movie in my mind and was like a cat on hot bricks. I know that Singapore is a safe place but I could not help myself to think about the pessimistic side of the matter. "Who is there lurking in the bushes? Will he attack me?"questions raced through my mind. Then, near the bushes I saw a long piece of metal. Now, this is really spine-chilling!. I realized that there was a man hiding in the bushes and he was holding a rifle. I broke out in cold sweat. All of a sudden, a black crow flew across the sky. The man put the gun to his shoulder, aimed and shot. The crow fell to the ground with a loud thud! My heart sank for the bird. The man immediately emerged from the bushes and lifted the dead crow up. Then, he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I continued my jog with beads of perspiration all over me until my father called me from afar that it is time to go home. I told the incident to my father and he laughed before asking me "Are you born without guts??" I paused for a moment and gave a laugh. What a morning to start my day!!!
